Ree
attended Julliard School of Music in New York, and studied with James Smith of
the New York Philharmonic, and Lou Maggio. She has been a member of Connecticut
Symphony, San Gabriel Valley Symphony and currently performs with the Golden
State British Brass Band and Claremont Symphonic Winds. She has radio, TV,
concert band, dance band and recording experience.
Ree is
the Founding Director of the Arcadia Brass Ensemble, Sierra Madre Concert Band and Blue Notes
Dance Orchestra.
She uses
her experience of being a private studio teacher since 1950 to teach with an
emphasis that includes classical, jazz, and ensembles, and she encourages performance training for
recitals, auditions and Festivals.
Ree's
students consistently earn superior ratings at Southern California festivals in
brass ensembles or as soloists, and have been recipients of outstanding musician
awards and scholarships.
